JAKARTA - The Director General of Village and Rural Development Sugito gave a speech and direction at the Webinar 'Utilization of Village Funds for the Acceleration of Tuberculosis Elimination in Indonesia' organized by Pattiro Semarang on Tuesday, January 18, 2021.

In his speech, Sugito said that as a manifestation of the mandate given to the Ministry of Villages for Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Trams in the effort to control TB, especially regarding the provision of regulations that can encourage the use of Village Funds to accelerate TB elimination, through Ministerial Decree No. 21 of 2020 concerning General Guidelines for Village Development and Village Community Empowerment, a new direction of national village development policy has been set, namely efforts to achieve the Village SDGs.

"Therefore, the use of Village Funds must be directed at efforts to achieve the Village SDGs, one of which is SDGs Number 3, namely Healthy and Prosperous Villages with one of the indicators of success being the reduction in the prevalence of TB," said Sugito. (18/01/2021)

Sugito also said that the Village Fund was not the only source of budget that could be used to fund TB control in the village.

"Other sources that can be accessed apart from the Village Fund and financing from the local government, there is funding from a third party, namely the business world in the form of CSR," said Sugito

Not to forget, Sugito also reminded that TB control is a shared responsibility, from the government to the community. In addition, TB is an infectious disease so its prevention and eradication absolutely requires community participation and participation, as well as wider community empowerment.

"On the other hand, the role of non-governmental organizations or other health care communities must be strengthened so that they can advocate for these funding sources," added Sugito.
